The Truth About Six Pack Abs is not really a muscle building program. On his website, Mike Geary tells you his book is not even focusing on abs specific exercises. For most of us it is a nonsense to hear that. Actually he explains abs exercises are the least effective way to burn fat.
And there comes the first truth : To get a six pack abs, you don’t need to focus on abs muscle growth, but on fat loss. Doing hundreds of crunches or other abs exercises actually develop and strenghten the abs muscles, that’s true. But the belly fat that covers your abs prevents anyone to see your abs, despite as big as they can be.
I myself am not overweight and regularly exercise. I always exercised my abs as well as any other muscle groups. Indeed it seems my abs were not getting bigger while my arms for example did. Actually, your abs, are muscles like others, but they are at the wrong place : under the fat (yeah, if fat was under our abs we would all have a six pack).
